On March 9 2018 at 11 a.m. Bangkok time, the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environmental Programme (SPREP) shared valuable insights and lessons learned as a Direct Access Entity to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through a webinar hosted by AIT RRC.AP and partners.

About 140 people registered to this 90 minute webinar, titled "Experiences of SPREP as a Direct Access Entity to Green Climate Fund”. Espen Ronneberg, SPREP Climate Change Adviser, was the guest presenter. He discussed SPREP's experiences during project initiation, preparation, submission and implementation to the GCF, and provided recommendations on future approaches by national and regional Direct Access Entities on project design, development and funding submission. His presentation can be downloaded here.

Participants showed great interest in follow-up communications and willingness to participate in more similar events in the future.

“Espen has made really good points … Thank you very much for sharing the powerpoint presentation. Much appreciated, we look forward to more useful webinars in the future.”

- Jonah Auka, Papua New Guinea GCF Focal Point
